         The Lantern Festival is a Chinese festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar Chinese calendar. Traditionally, the Lantern Festival is a part of the Spring Festival. Across China, people celebrate by making glutinous rice ball, hanging up lanterns and so on.

         The Zigong Lantern Show in Sichuan is a national intangible cultural heritage and a fine folk culture event in China. It has been held more than 1,000 sessions in more than 50 cities abroad and 500 cities in China under the brand of “Chinese Lantern Show,” with an overseas audience of more than 100 million people.

         Zigong lantern is the cultural epitome of the city’s charm and dynamism. It started in the Tang and Song dynasties, flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and is popular in contemporary times, with a history of more than 800 years. The traditional Zigong Lantern Show has been innovating by combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology and traditional culture with modern fashion, thus forming a fascinating art featuring magnificent momentum, unique conception, and superb craftsmanship. Walking in the lantern corridors and pavilions, you will be in a dreamlike world.

         Zigong lantern integrates traditional crafts with modern science and technology and adopts various craftsmanship, including silk tying, combing, binding, bonding, painting, welding, electric light, mechanical engineering, and paperhanging. It is a true rarity of diverse cultures and embodies the wisdom and ingenuity of the Chinese nation. Its abstract composition, figurative sculpture, graphic painting and calligraphy, composite decoration, and photodynamic mechanism form a comprehensive space art with distinctive national features. Moreover, with its smart combination of light and time factor, the Zigong lantern is full of vitality with penetrability, brightness, and brilliance.
